Chris was a former employee with the Department of Veterans Affairs, a former truck driver and security guard for Wild Turkey and Buffalo Trace. He was a 1993 graduate of Jefferson High School, attended Capella University where he studied Business Management, he also attended BCTC in Lawrenceburg, and the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA. He was a certified Spanish Linguist and received degrees in Public Affairs and Homeland Security. Christopher was a veteran of both the U.S. Navy and Army Reserves. He served during the Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he received a Good Conduct Medal. He was an avid Falcon Fan, University of Georgia Football Fan, and enjoyed bowling.
Including his wife Carolyn, he is survived by his sons, Brent Wilkes and Kyle Wilkes and their mother Amada Cross of Maysville, Georgia, Tanis Wilkes, Denny Wilkes and Chad Wilkes, all of Lawrenceburg.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Rome Wilkes in 2006; his sister, Kansas Elaine Passmore; and an uncle Ricky Wilkes.
Memorial service will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Visitation will be 12 noon till time of service at 2:00.
