Ricky "Rick" Levan Shelton, age 64, of Garland, TX was born November 24, 1954 in Dallas, TX to Elvie Levan & Darlene Joyce Sowards and passed away July 24, 2019.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Williams Memorial Chapel in Garland, TX. If possible, please wear blue in Rick's honor (his favorite color).
Rick loved his wife, children, and family more than anything and was an avid fan of Dallas sports teams, James Bond, and the Eagles. He also loved any opportunity to travel to new places with his family.
Rick graduated from Berkner High School where he played football for the fighting Rams. While in school, he made numerous life-long friends with whom he stayed in contact and visited throughout the years.
Rick was a humble man who put the needs of others before his own. He was never one to sing his own praises, but would be first in line to tell someone how great they were doing or how proud he was of them and offer words of encouragement.
Rick is survived by his wife, Tammi Shelton; sons, Lucas Shelton and Taylor Shelton & wife Melissa; granddaughter, Addeline Shelton; mother, Darlene Fernandez; step-father, Daniel Fernandez; siblings: Gary Shelton & wife Laurie, Susan McKissack & husband Brad, Judy Hill, Tracy Hefley, and Kerry Hefley; brother-in-law, Mark Gaddis & wife Judy; mother-in-law, Carol Downing; father-in-law, Roy Gaddis.
Rick was preceded in death by his son, Jason Paul Shelton and father, Elvie Levan Shelton.
