Ruth E. Robinson "Dr. Jones" 95 years old of Gansevoort passed away Friday September 3, 2021 at home.

She was born in Staten Island, New York to Edward and Lee Jones.

Ruth was a pioneer for women. She was one of the first women veterinarians to graduate from Cornell University in 1947.

She met and married her lab partner, Elmer Robinson. Together they opened Saratoga Springs Veterinary Hospital in 1950. They raised five children while practicing on small and large animals for 30 years.

Ruth was a member of Zonta and The Garden Club. She continued to organize luncheons for retirees well into her 90's.She was so much to so many.

Her favorite saying was "To Laugh is to Live" and we ALWAYS laughed.

As a Mom she was our support and her love was unconditional. As a Gram and GGma (GiGi ma) she was a cookie maker, pitcher, piano player, babysitter and LOVE.

Upon retirement Ruth and El spent their winters in Key Largo, FL. They loved it there and made many new lifelong friends. She often said they were "rich" with friends and how blessed they were to have so much love around them.

Ruth overcame many medical issues over the last eight years, but she always rallied strong, thanks to her daughter Gale that gave her the best care possible. As of late her body failed her mind. She was sharp as always.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of 66 years Dr. Elmer L. Robinson and her brother Edward J. Jones Jr. of Savannah GA.

Ruth is survived by her children Nancy Schaefer (David), Gale Webster, Chris Casertino, Roy Robinson (Cristina) and Leta Rock-Wells (Mark); eleven grandchildren, Erin, Dave, Alissa, Shaun, Nicole, Andrew, Sabrina, Monique, Lucas, Jesse and Jamie; thirteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
