Stephen Dale Johnson, 77, of Elizabeth, WV went to be with his heavenly Father on September 6, 2021 with his wife and daughter by his side.

He was born October 6, 1943 in Parkersburg, WV and was the son of the late Lloyd Johnson and Audra Idena Sleeth.

He was a heavy equipment operator and owned several businesses over the years: Johnson Used Car Lot in Parkersburg, WV, Johnson Produce, J & W Equipment and Johnson Enterprise selling grocery store and restaurant equipment.

Stephen enjoyed hunting, fishing, storytelling, spending time with his family and friends, and traveling to the West Virginia Mountains.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife, of 55 years Janet Loraine Riddle Johnson of Elizabeth, WV whom he married January 29, 1966; two daughters, Erica Loraine Johnson Elmore (Kelley) of Lubeck, WV and Jennifer Adair Johnson Shears (Steve) of Williamstown, WV; two sons, Steven Dale Johnson (Creela) of Rockport and Bradford Dale Johnson (Patty) of Washington, WV; nine grandchildren, Ethan McPeek of Mineral Wells, WV, Sara Adair McPeek Smith (Austin) of Parkersburg, WV, Ian Elmore (Katie) of Vienna, WV, Evan Elmore of Lubeck, WV, Chris, Eric, Justin, Clinton and Clay Johnson; seven great- grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Holshue (Larry), Melanie Sleeth Myers and Mona Sleeth all of VA; two brothers, Jimmy Stanley (Anita) of WI and David Stanley (Jean) of VA; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Amber Adair Riddle Johnson; great- grandchild, Levi Scott Elmore; one sister, Delores Cox; and two brothers, Bruce and Roger Johnson.

A private celebration will take place with burial to follow in the spring at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Calhoun County, WV.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made in Stephen's memory to the Parkersburg Humane Society P.O. Box 392 Parkersburg, WV 26102.
