Aurelia N. Severance, was born to Jesse and Sophia Abbot-Severance, on March 16, 1803, in Conway, Mass. On Oct. 26, 1826 she married Seth Gates (Feb. 12, 1802 - May 10, 1884). They had 4 children: 1) Edwin S. Gates (1828-1891).
2) Anna Sophia, who was born Oct. 26, 1829 and died at the young age of 16, on April 15, 1846. 3) William P. (1834-1888). 4) Charles H. (1838-1908).
Aurelia N., wife of Seth; died July 5 1842, age 39. Seth remarried twice, and had 2 other children. They are buried in Rest Haven Cemetery, Section A Lot 22.
Aurelia Severance Gates and daughter Anna Sophia, are actually buried in Gates Butcher Cemetery, Town of Seneca. Their names are also inscribed on the Gates monument at Resthaven cemetery.
