On Sunday, August 29, 2021, Irmgard Maria Fedra Schlageter, our loving mother and grandmother passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 75.

Irmgard was born on October 26, 1945 in the city of Asch of the Czech Republic, and was the middle daughter of Gustav and Anna Fedra. After finishing primary school in Heilbronn, Germany, Irmgard completed nursing school in Stuttgart, Germany. She worked as a pediatric nurse when she met George Schlageter. On July 25, 1969 she and George were married, and together they raised three children, Donna, Sherry, and George.

Irmgard had a passion for reading, and post-retirement gave her time to do what she loved: read, read, read. Reading was best for Irmgard when she had a cup of cup of coffee and her pups at her side. When she was not reading, she loved to take walks, go shopping, or watch Science Fiction movies. Irmgard had a deep appreciation for the performing arts, and enjoyed many years of season tickets to the Houston Symphony Pops Concerts. Above all, family time was the most cherished part of her life, especially at holidays like Christmas and Easter.

Irmgard was preceded in rest by her parents, Gustav and Anna Fedra, her nephew, Thomas Weil, her brother-in-law, Karl Heinz Weil, and her husband, George. Irmgard was survived by her three children, Donna, Sherry, and George, her two sisters, Ingrid and Monika, her four grandchildren Leigh, Camryn, Addym, and Madison, her nieces and nephew Sabine, Sven, Sandy, and Jennifer.
