Angela Hopkins, 94, passed away peacefully September 4, 2021. She was born in Fall River, Massachusetts to the late William and Mary Sullivan O'Hare. She was raised in Fall River and after their June, 1952 wedding, she and husband Bill, moved to Newport, Rhode Island, then settled in Norfolk. After their retirement, they moved to Virginia Beach.
After raising a family, she worked in the accounting department at Virginia Wesleyan University for over 20 years. Angela was a 40 year resident of the Oceans Condominium and enjoyed long walks on the Boardwalk. She recently moved to Marion Manor Assisted Living. Angela was a member of Star of the Sea Catholic Church and previously, St. Pius X.
She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Bill, her sisters Mary O'Hare, Sister Virginia O'Hare, and Eleanor Paquet.
Angela is survived by daughters, Lisa John, husband Barry, Susan Gelardi, husband Mike, son Mark, wife Donna. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Erin Creech, Will Hopkins, Emily Hopkins, and great-grandson,
Beckham Keesee. She is also survived by her brother, Bill and wife, Pat.
Visitation will be held at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments 2002 Laskin Road, Virginia Beach on Thursday, September 9, from 5 until 7 in the evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Star of the Sea Catholic Church 1404 Pacific Avenue, Virginia Beach, on Friday, September 10, at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery 2020 Laskin Road. We respectfully request that all unvaccinated attendees wear a mask.
