Juanita Ruth Blankenship, age 66, of 1421 Frame Street, Charleston, W.Va. and formerly of Bluefield, died on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at her residence. Born on April 10, 1942 in Alexandria, Va., she was a daughter of the late Howard and Mallie Treolo Morris Hamlin. She had been a resident of Bluefield for most of her life and was of the Baptist faith. She formerly worked as a cook in the dietary department at Westwood Nursing Home in Bluefield, VA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil, Curtis, and Allen Hamlin. Survivors include: Son: Timothy L. Pennington and wife Sandra of Charleston; one step-grandson: Christopher Kingery of Charleston; one sister: Barbara Henley of N.C.Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Dr. Kenneth Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
