She was born and raised in Bradley County and a member of Philippi Baptist Church. She loved to go shopping and enjoyed serving on the church finance committee and cooking for bereaved families on behalf of the church. She also enjoyed attending car shows with her husband, John, and her dog, Dino.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, William Pickel; and grandparents; Autence and Emma Long, Thomas Pickel, Rhoda Jane Wallraven, and Dennis Houston.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her parents, Buddy and Dot Henry; and brothers: Danny Pickel and Anthony Pickel.
A joint celebration of John and Darlene's life will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021, at Philippi Baptist Church with Dr. Sammy Hooker officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. They will be laid to rest at Lee Cemetery.
