Sandra Mackey was a small farm wife and enjoyed everything that it entailed. In addition, she loved caring for others and putting others before herself. Sandra J. Mackey, 79, of Galion passed away Monday, September 6, 2021 at Magnolia Terrace in Galion where she had been a resident for nearly three years.
She was born April 26, 1942 in Galion and was the daughter of Samuel and Betty (Lewis) Scribner. On October 19, 1963 she married Willard E. Mackey, Jr. and they enjoyed 48 years together until his passing on January 4, 2012.
Sandra started caring for people and ended up turning it into a business called, We Care. She owned and operated it for many years. Always busy, Sandra had the handle "QT" on the CB radio, and was an avid card player, especially euchre.
She is survived by four children, Willard "Ed" Edgar, III and wife Julie Pachinger of Kipton, Ohio, Melissa Annette Timmons and husband Gary of Frankfort, Ohio, son Matthew Adam Mackey and wife Paula Nickler of Galion and Shawna Nadene Mackey of Galion; nine grandchildren, Emily, Kayla, Erika, Trey, Katrina, Dakota, David, Daniel and Adam; three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Kyle and Braylee; three sisters, Miriam Gantz-Campo of Galion, Carol (Dale) Montalbano of Texas and Kathryn Bocci of Galion; three brothers, Paul Scribner of Kissimmee, Florida, Richard Scribner of Galion and Kenneth Scribner of Rochester, Minnesota; brother-in-law, Dave Callahan of Galion and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Callahan.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 2:00 p.m., September 8. Burial will be in Olentangy Cemetery in Crawford County.
