OBITUARY: Janice Pitts

Janice Pitts, 48, of Pecos, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, in an Odessa hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Nalley-Pickle and Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Leroy Linney, pastor of Hosanna Christian Fellowship in Stanton, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton.
She was born Nov. 18, 1953, in Big Spring, attended Grady and Flower Grove schools, for five years worked as a gin clerk at Brown Gin in the Brown Community, Tarzan Farmers Gin and Long Gin in Stanton, worked in the Martin County Tax Assessor-Collector's office for five years and was a billing and rating clerk at Winkles Trucking Co. in Pecos for five years. She owned and operated Family Traditions in Pecos until her health failed and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Pecos.
She was preceded in death by one son, Buster Klyce Franklin and her father, Buster Haggard.
Survivors include her husband, J.T. Pitts of Pecos; one daughter, Mandy Garza of Stanton; one son, John Randy Franklin of Lenorah; her mother, Mildred Haggard of Stanton; three sisters, Becky Williams of Stanton, Ann Schafer of Glasscock County and Jackie Wells of Lenorah; her grandmother, Clara Allred of Stanton and two grandchildren.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to: Medina Children's Home, 21300 State Hwy. 16 N. Medina, Tx. 78055 or to the Martin County Museum, P.O. Box 929, Stanton, Tx. 79782.
Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
