She was born January 8, 1935 in Gladys, Virginia, the youngest daughter to the late Leslie Felix Jackson and Annie Joyce Burns Jackson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Daniel, Sr., son, Rev. J. Layne Daniel, and fourteen brothers and sisters.
She is survived by four sons: Rev. Fred Daniel, Jr and wife, Beth, Rev. Tim Daniel and wife, Karen, Rev. D. Scott Daniel and wife, Katrina, Rev. N. Todd Daniel and wife, Lydia, daughter-in-law, Sharon Daniel, fifteen grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren. A niece/"daughter", Melissa Anderson, and close friend, Pat Watson are left to cherish her memory along with other nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She loved the Lord and served Him faithfully throughout her life by serving as pianist for many churches beginning at the age of twelve. She also served as pianist. Helen was also an avid shopper, accomplished seamstress, floral arranger, and flower gardener. In her professional career she worked as both an executive secretary and administrative assistant. She was a woman of many talents, and God abundantly blessed the work of her hands.
A service to celebrate Helen's life will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 6:00 pm at George Brothers Funeral Service in Greensboro with her sons officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Burial will be at the Rocky Mount Memorial Park, 4454 Dortches Boulevard in Rocky Mount, NC on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 11:00 am.
