Darlene was a member of Hines Valley Baptist Church. Darlene was a strong witness for the Lord Jesus Christ and loved her family dearly. Her soul will now live forever with the Lord and Saviour. Her legacy and the memories of Darlene will live forever in the midst of all her family and friends.
Darlene was born April 21, 1957, to Bob Smith and Ruby Hatfield Smith, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Donald R. Townsend; children, Stacey Jones and husband Randall, all of Knoxville; Wade Townsend and wife Debbie of Loudon; grandchildren, Rachel Jones Sprunger and husband Brayden, Daniel, Kaylee, Kylee and Easton Townsend; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Tim Keener of Loudon; special friend, Gina Harmon.
The family wants to send a special thanks to all the helpful nurses that cared for Darlene during her stay at the hospital.
Friends may visit at their convenience from 1:00 to 5:00 pm on Tuesday, September 7that the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel for a "walk through" (due to COVID-19 precautions) to pay their respects.
Family and friends will gather at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9th at Marietta Cemetery for graveside services with Rev. Allen Williams and Rev. James Lynch officiating.
The family has requested that masks be worn at both events for a precaution.
