Duane Hershel Blankenship, 47, of Shepherdsville, passed away on September 2, 2021. He was born in Louisville on April 26, 1974 to Isaac "Hershel" and Marie "Jeanie" Blankenship.
Duane attended Bullitt Central High school and graduated with the class of 1992. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 110 and enjoyed working on trucks and mud racing. He was a loving Father, Papaw, son and fiancé; a reliable, generous friend; an ambitious and inventive worker and he will be missed deeply by everyone that knew him. He is preceded in death by his Mother, Marie "Jeanie" Blankenship.
Left to cherish his memory is his Father, Isaac "Hershel" Blankship; 3 children, Chelsea (Alexander) Atty, Allison (Brandon Cunningham) Blankenship and Clayton Blankenship; 3 grandchildren, Taygan Abati, Hadley Cunningham, Eleanor Atty and one more on the way; his fiancé, Kathy Eldridge and her children, Kayla Hukle and Joseph Eldridge; and a host of extended family members and friends too many to name.
The family will accept guests for visitation on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 3-8 pm and on Friday, September 10, 2021 from 9-11 am . A service to celebrate Duane's life will take place at the funeral home on Friday at 11 am with burial to follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Hopkinsville, Kentucky
