Susan Leigh Daugherty died peacefully into our Heavenly Father's embrace on September 4th, 2021 at the age of 68.

Susan was born on August 26th, 1953 to Don and Amy Lohner at Grady Memorial Hospital in Chickasha, OK. She graduated in 1971 from Alex High School. She met Bill Daugherty of Chickasha, OK and they were married on November 12th, 1971.

Susan and Bill started their family in 1973 and raised their two sons, Travis and Chad, to make a home in Chickasha, OK. While creating a home and helping to raise her boys, Susan courageously went to college and graduated with honors at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. Susan used her degree to become a teacher in the Chickasha Public School system where she taught, cared and mentored for over 25 years before retiring in 2012 to spend more time with her husband, kids and grandkids. For the last 50 years, Susan and Bill have been members at College Heights Baptist Church. Susan spent most of those 50 years showing the love of Jesus to children in roles as teacher and director of Sunday School activities.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Ann McKenzie. She is survived by her husband Bill Daugherty, son Travis Daugherty and his wife Carrie along with two grandsons Tanner and Ethan, son Chad Daugherty along with three granddaughters Calleigh-Lynn, Colbie Rae and Cassidee Marie. In addition, she was survived by sisters Donna Lohner, Janet Bowman, Nan Weller and brother Timothy Lohner, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Teaching was a passion of Susan's as evident by the many children's lives she touched in school and church. Her true love was for her Lord Jesus Christ and her faithfulness made a great impression on all that knew her or even just met her. Susan loved her family unconditionally. She enjoyed spending time with her family and playing board games into the wee hours of the night.
