Renée Kleek-Laureyns, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2020. Born in New Hartford, New York to the late Gene and Marilyn Kleek, she was 64 years old.
Beloved and cherished mother of Amanda and her husband Michael Stewart.
Loving grandmother of Benjamin and Henry Stewart.
Devoted wife to René Laureyns.
Dear sister of Karen Kelly, Susan Ferenti, Thomas Kleek, and the late Mark Kleek.
Renée graduated cum laude from SUNY University with a bachelors in science. She worked many years as a director of medical records.
Renée was an advocate for Multiple Sclerosis and volunteeed for the annual MS walks. She never let MS define her and focused not on limitations but independence.
Renée loved to read and kept her library card up to date.
She fulfilled her life long dream of visiting Paris and seeing the Eiffel Tower on her 60th birthday. But her biggest passion in life was being a grandmother. Her grandsons were the light of her life. On most days you could find them playing Monopoly or on a trip to Rita's Water Ice.
