Kenneth Dale Adams was born on February 7, 1953, and he made the move to his heavenly home on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at the age of 68 after a long battle with kidney and heart diseases.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Linda, his daughters: Kelly and husband Mike Bailey, Lori and husband Rick Tarkington, Leslie and husband Jamie Pannell; Grandchildren: Haily and husband Dylan Terry, Hanna Tarkington, Noah Tarkington, Treasure Hubler, Rosalyn Hubler, Sara Bailey, Joshua Bailey, Matthew Bailey, and 7 great Grandchildren; brother and sister in law Bobby and Linda Adams, and sister and brother in law Patsy and Bobby Bright. We know Ken had a sweet homecoming as there are many relatives and friends to greet him in Heaven including his mother and father, Mabel and Floyd Adams, brother Larry Adams, brother-in-law Randy Parker, nephew Karey Sipes, niece Regina Bright, and a host of friends who have gone before.
In his earlier days, Kenneth worked at a grocery store in his hometown of Pampa and he loved to tell tall tales from his days as a youth in Texas. His love for his home state was tried and true, and even when he moved to Oklahoma he proudly (and bravely) sported a Texas Longhorns sticker on his truck. Kenneth loved his Dallas Cowboys and would regularly (and loudly) express his pleasure or displeasure at the television as he guided 'his Cowboys' as their armchair quarterback every Sunday night. Ken loved fishing, listening to gospel music, collecting old model cars, and operating a kennel with Linda over many years. Before starting his own business, Kenneth worked in the 'hot end' at Ball Brothers Glass plant until it closed in the late 1980's. Following that crossroads in their lives, Kenneth and Linda made the brave choice to start Adams Pest Control. With lots of blood, sweat, tears and prayer, they built that business for over 30 years and made it the successful enterprise it is today. Ken loved his family, and will always be remembered for his antics, especially in his younger years. He loved banana pudding, peppermint candy, and he loved the Rocky Mountains. Before he got so sick, Ken loved to go camping, until a tent got the best of him in Colorado when he and Linda decided that hotels might be a better choice henceforward. That tent ended the rustic travel experience, but was the start of many wonderful summer and spring trips to the mountains or the shores of Panama City Beach where they vacationed for many years.
Ken was an extraordinary man, and one of the most dedicated to God and his church – Church on the Square. Kenneth was always one of the first ones to church every Wednesday and Sunday, and even as his illness progressed, he never missed an opportunity to be with his church family and to give back to God. He was faithful and passionate about his love for Jesus and this great country. He and Linda are avid supporters of the Okmulgee community, and various Christian organizations that support orphans, refugees and Israeli causes. Ken's legacy will live on through the love of his family, through Adams Pest Control, and through the countless lives in the Okmulgee community and throughout the world that have been impacted through their contributions over many years. While we are sad for our 'Pappa Ken' to leave this earth, we celebrate with him because we know that now he has his heavenly body where he can do all those things he has missed out on these last years due to disease. He ran his race and fought a brave fight, and we look forward to seeing him again someday thanks to the love and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
