Jim Brusenhan, age 84, of Coleman, passed from this life into his heavenly home on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at Holiday Hill Nursing Home, Coleman.

He was born James Edward Brusenhan on February 22, 1938 in the Coleman Hospital to Curtis Ernest Brusenhan and Cleo Belle Redding Brusenhan. He grew up in Coleman and graduated from Coleman High in 1956. He graduated from Texas A&I and attended welding school at Midland College. On March 3, 1962 he married Belva Sue Neal in San Angelo. They recently celebrated 61 years of marriage and were blessed with two daughters- Jimmye Sue and Marla Belle.

Jim loved to work and spent his career years with Mobil Oil, Exxon Oil, Delta Drilling, Newhall Land & Farming, and as a Completion Consultant in the oil field. He retired to Coleman in 2004 and began his hobby-farming and ranching.

Jim was a member of the Al Amin Shrine in Corpus Christi and the Suez Shrine, Coleman Lodge 496, Director for Texas Farm Bureau, First Baptist Church, Baptist Campers on Mission, and Tumbleweed & Recyclers Square Dance Clubs.

He served his country in the Army reserve. During his service in the Army he purchased his and Sue's rings at the PX while he was stationed at Ft Ord, California.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest & Cleo Brusenhan; his sister, Ernestine; his brothers Curtis Eugene & Donald Robert.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Brusenhan of Coleman; his brother, Marcus Wayne of Victoria; his daughters, Jimmye Sue & Alton Jones of Lorena, Marla Belle & William Landon Pennell of Georgetown; and grandchildren Alton Neal & Kelsey Jones (and a new arrival in April of 2023), of Lorena, Tucker James Pennell of Hawaii; Kristen Sheppard & Nathan Ford of Brandon, MS; Raegan Mae Pennell of Georgetown, Jamie Sue & Ben Garst of Houston and Reese William Pennell of Georgetown.

Visitation will be at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman, on Saturday October 15, 2022 and will begin at 1:00 PM, Chapel service will follow at 2:30 PM, with Dr. Chas Shira of First Baptist Church, officiating.

Pallbearers are Alton Neal Jones, Kelsey Mazzon Jones, Tucker James Pennell, Kristen Sheppard Jones, Nathan Ramey Ford, Raegan Mae Pennell, Timothy James Raguse, Jamie Sue Garst, Benjamin Lewis Garst and Reese William Pennell.
