Jerry was born August 20th, 1934, to Ernest and Kathleen Stomsvik in the small town of Conrad, Montana. After high school graduation, Jerry made his way to Fort Sheridan, IL after enlisting in the United States Army.
After his time in the U.S. Army, he enrolled at Concordia College in Moorehead, Minnesota. He would later take his career to Union Oil in Cut Bank, MT.
At 22 years old, on June 8th, 1957, Jerry married Iva Doggett. Jerry and Iva were blessed with three beautiful daughters: Faith, Laura, and Jennifer. His career would bring them to Alaska, California, Arizona, and Wyoming. In 1980 they settled in Butte, Montana, where he would work for the Montana Power Company, from which he retired in 1996.
After Iva's passing, Jerry would soon meet Margaret "Marge" (Vavas) Allen. They were wed in September of 1987. They shared 34 happy years together. They remained constant companions until his passing. If you saw one, you saw the other.
Jerry was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed golf, football, and bowling. In fact, on a special day in 1967 he bowled a 300. He enjoyed playing, watching, and talking sports, especially with his dear friend, Steve Doran.
Even with Jerry's fondness for sports, the greatest gift of his life was his family.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Iva; his parents, Ernest and Kathleen; his sister, Andrea; and brother-in-law, Larry Kamrath. He is survived by his daughters, Faith Voges, Laura (George) Friez, and Jennifer Millay; his grandchildren, whom he loved and adored; Chloe (Kyle) Strozzi, Zach (Rachel Dean) Friez, Rachel (Mike) Ueland, Erica (Kole Roberts) Millay, and J.T. Millay; and his great grandbabies, Eva (Millay) Roberts and Steele Strozzi.
