Anna Mette had two older brothers and a younger brother and sister. They lived on a farm in the Bremervörde neighborhood. Her father died in January 1887, just before she left to come to the U.S.
On May 10, 1887, she arrived in the United States and lived south of Wiota, Cass County, Iowa. She married John Duden on March 1, 1888. The couple had 6 children and farmed south of Wiota. In 1917 they retired & moved to Atlantic. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Anna was preceded in death by all of her siblings and four of her children.
