Sarah J. Griffith, 92, of Parsonsburg, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at her residence.
Born in Tylersport, PA. Sarah was the daughter of the late David P. Jenkins and Mary Elizabeth Bailey Jenkins.
Sarah was a member of, The Church of God of Prophecy, in Salisbury. In her younger years, Sarah was a beautician with her own shop, here in Salisbury. In addition, she also worked in several local shirt factories. For a few years, Sarah left the area and upon returning home to Salisbury she began working at Campbell's Soup and continued employment until the plant closed. At that time, Sarah became a private care giver / sitter in the local area. Sarah was employed , in the Mentoring Program, for the Wicomico County Board of Education until retirement.
Sarah enjoyed reading, sewing and quilting, and watching game shows.
Sarah is survived by two sons, Gerald Griffith (Lydia) of New Holland, PA and William "Billy" Griffith (Donna) of DeRidder, LA; and a daughter, Candace Pruett Smith, of Port Saint Lucie, FL.
12 grandchildren; several great and several great great grandchildren; and 2 daughter in laws : Linda Griffith, of Salisbury, and Kathy Griffith of Eden.
In addition to her parents, Sarah was also preceded in death by two sons, John "Jack" Griffith, Jr and Michael "Mike" Griffith;A son in law Donald "Donnie" Smith; three sisters, Mary, Fannie and Margie; and two brothers, David and Joe.
The family will conduct private Celebration services at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
