Miguel Rodriguez, Sr. ,71, of Pleak, Texas entered eternal rest on Friday September 3rd, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on September 29th, 1949, in Rosenberg, TX to parents Juan Castillo Rodriguez Sr. and Alicia Garcia Rodriguez. He was raised in Richmond, TX alongside his 16 siblings. He settled his own family in Fairchild, TX for a time and then laid his roots in Pleak, TX in 1990.

Miguel began a career at Marek Brothers in 1972 where he worked as a Drywall Installer and Finisher. It was hard to find a community or part of town where he couldn't point and say he did the installation there! You could almost always find him cruising down Highway 59 South around 4:30 pm doing 45 mph in his work van with the windows rolled down as he made his way home from a jobsite. He finally decided to retire in 2015 after 43 dedicated years of service to Marek Brothers. He was one of the hardest working men you could ever come across. He was always willing to help anyone that needed last minute repairs or bigger projects completed when it came to drywall or anything else he knew how to do! His children and grandchildren were always eager to tag along to help when he would line-up side projects on the weekend.

He was the ultimate Dallas Cowboys fan and didn't hesitate to remind any Houston Texans or Tennessee Titans fans who America's team is! He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved Tejano music. A coffee and a cheese danish was his go to breakfast. He took up walking to keep himself active and enjoyed making the block around the big city of Pleak several times a week. Miguel was very proud of his Catholic faith and always reminded his family that the man upstairs was always watching over him and his family. He enjoyed visiting Basilica Of Our Lady of San Juan del Valle and was able to make one last trip with his wife and children before he passed.

Shortly after retirement, Miguel had his first battle with cancer in 2015 and beat it. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with cancer for a second time in July of 2021 and knew he couldn't beat it again. He chose to make the most of his remaining time by surrounding himself with the love of his family and friends. He asked them all not to worry because he knew where he was destined for was an eternal paradise. He leaves his family and friends with memories and stories that they'll cherish forever.

Miguel was an adored son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the chance to meet him.
