OAK GROVE, LA - Funeral services for Brian David Shelton, age 39 of Oak Grove, Louisiana will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Cox Funeral Home Chapel, 200 East Noble Street in Oak Grove, Louisiana.

Reverend Gary Wolfe will officiate.

Interment will be in the Forest Corner Cemetery near Forest, Louisiana.

Services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Oak Grove, Louisiana.

A time of visitation will be held from noon until time of service at Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove.

Brian passed into eternal life on Monday, August 30, 2021 at Seneca, Illinois where he was working.

He loved hunting and fishing any chance he could find. Brian loved and enjoyed his pipeline career and the many, many extended family and friends he made through his different jobs. He had many friends that he would do anything for. He was his happiest when he was with his two children, which shown with the biggest smile on his face. Brian had a witty comeback and awesome sense of humor, which resulted with the many friends that turned into family wherever he would go. Brian was known for the best bear hugs, that could make you feel better no matter what was going on. He loved to cook good food and he liked to grill and to host for his friends.

He is survived by his father and mother, Marty Ray Shelton and Pamela (Hammett) Shelton of Oak Grove, Louisiana; his former wife, Kayla (Moss) Shelton of Oak Grove, Louisiana; son, Jaxon Shelton of Oak Grove, Louisiana; daughter, Jemma Shelton of Oak Grove, Louisiana; sister and brother-in-law, Courtney and Joey Dye of Oak Grove, Louisiana; niece, Abigail Dye of Oak Grove, Louisiana; niece, Anna Grace Dye of Oak Grove, Louisiana; nephew, Riley Joe Dye of Oak Grove, Louisiana; grandparents, Ruth & Kenny Colburn of Seymour, Tennessee; numerous aunts, uncles, & cousins; and a host of extended family.
