Randy "Baja" Fletcher, 72, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on August 27, 2021 after sustaining injuries from a fall preparing for a concert in Put-In-Bay, Ohio. Randy passed away peacefully holding the hands of his two daughters who were his pride and joy. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Fletcher. Left to cherish Randy's memory are his mother, Inez Fletcher, who was his biggest inspiration; his adored sisters, Linda Pegram (Willie) and Lucy Cox (late Alan); and his daughters, Lucinda Hefner (Josh) and Natalie Fletcher, who he often referred to as his greatest blessings; their mother, Marti Fletcher; and his niece and nephews, Abbey Gaskill (Derek), Jody Pegram (Jen) and Josh Pegram (Helen).
Randy was born in Mavisdale, Virginia on October 7, 1948. After high school, he devoted his life to the Music Business, starting his near 50-year career in Virginia Beach with Bill Deal and the Rhondels.
Randy then landed a job with rock legends ZZ Top for most of the mid 70s. In 1978 he started a 10-year run with Waylon Jennings. During this time, he also toured with Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Willie Nelson, and many more. In 1988 he began working with Randy Travis on his first headlining tour, whom he would continue with for five years. In 1992 Randy started working with Brooks & Dunn, where he served as the duo's production manager for 18 years.
In 2011 Randy took his current role as production manager for Keith Urban.
In 2010 Randy was awarded the Parnelli Lifetime Achievement Award and in 2017 awarded with the CMA's first-ever Touring Lifetime Achievement Award. He was awarded Production Manager of The Year in 2019 among other industry honors.
Fletcher served in the United States Army and served a tour in Vietnam.
Randy, affectionately known as "Baja" lived every day of his life with gratitude, joy, passion, and a deep faith in the Lord. He never met a stranger and to know him was to love him. Randy believed that "Life was Good" and radiated authentic love with his huge smile and big warm bear hugs. He loved deeply and was the heartbeat of his family, band, and crew. Randy will be dearly miss in this earthly life and we all look forward to the day we reunite with him in heaven.
A Celebration of Life to honor Randy will be held at a later date.

Note: Elbert (FAG # 49905484) & Etta Fletcher divorced in 1926; two children at this time. He was a miner age 38, she was 23 in 1926.
