Vinton……….Dorothy Jane Evans Edwards, age 84 of Vinton died Friday, September 3, 2021 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born June 18, 1937 in Tyner, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late James Gurney Evans and Verna Lloyd Evans. She was predeceased by her husband, Jasper "Pete" Calvin Edwards, Sr.; and two brothers, Norfleet Evans, and James Evans. Mrs. Edwards was a member of Hurt Pentecostal Holiness Church and she retired from Schrader International. She loved her church family and her pet, Kohana; and she enjoyed crocheting, and riding in the car.

She is survived by one son, Jasper "Jay" Calvin Edwards, Jr. and wife, Melissa of Vinton; one brother, Norman "Buddy" Evans; one sister, Catherine Chapman of Roanoke; a sister-in-law, Jean Midkiff of Smith Mountain Lake; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Hurt Pentecostal Holiness Church Freedom Worship Center by Dr. Rich Denning and Pastor Mark Hopkins. Burial will follow in St. John's Episcopal Church Cemetery.
