Paul Edward Lynch, 95, of Newburgh, passed away September 3, 2021 at Primrose Assisted Living Center. He was born April 26, 1926 to the late Elmer and Jessie Ellen (Wetzel) Lynch.

Paul served in the US army during WW2 at the Battle of the Bulge, where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He retired from the Army Reserve after 41 years. He enjoyed volunteering at the VA clinic. He was a member of Fairlawn United Methodist Church for over 30 years, and served as trustee and usher.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Dorothy A Lynch; children, Linda (Ray) Wheeler, Deb (Bill) McAshlan, Paul (Leslie) Lynch, Tim (Lisa) Lynch, and Mark (Alana) Lynch; Grandkids, Scott, Lisa, Mack, Troy, Michelle, Monica, Madelyn, Elissa, Addison, and Aubrey; great grandkids, Landon, Ellison, Jace, Grayce, Talon, Ava, and Brady; and nieces and nephews.

Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who was always there to help family and friends. He was an exemplary role model. He had a sharp wit and was known for his sense of humor.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his three sisters, Roma, Dorothy and Juanita.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00p.m on Tuesday, September 9, 2021 at Ziemer funeral home, East Chapel, 800 S Hebron Ave., Evansville. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2021, the funeral home with Reverend Randy Owen officiating. Burial will be at Parklawn cemetery.
