James F. Miles, of Topeka, passed at his residence Friday afternoon, September 3, 2021.
He was born December 19, 1940, in Gary Indiana, to the late Fred and Mary Holcombe Miles. He married Edna Farris on June 5, 1959 in Bellevue, Illinois.
He is survived by his wife, Edna F. Miles; 2 daughters, Jimmi (Danny Ramsey) Miles and Kristina (David Henry) Miles; along with 3 grandchildren, Jessica Miles-Diaz, Brayden Trainer and Kallie Trainer; 1 great-grandchild, Richard James Diaz and another one on the way. His brother, Wayne Miles also survives.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a daughter, Freda Miles.
After retirement from Caterpillar in 1994 he enjoyed racing Standardbreds for 20 plus years. James and Edna were inseparable, where you saw him, Edna was right behind him. They had been together since they were 15 years old. He enjoyed fishing, working around his shop and going on his evening drives with his wife, Edna.
Cremation Rites have been accorded and no services are planned at this time.
