Thomas Day Hunter, 73, peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at home in Westerville, OH surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born on June 17, 1948 to Thomas Wayne Hunter and Barbara Louise (Day) Hunter in Indianapolis, IN.

Tom grew up in Sidney, OH. He graduated from Sidney High School in 1966, where he lettered in football and track, and was elected Senior Class President. Tom then attended Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN. There he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, and he graduated in 1969 with an English Literature major. Tom went to University of Iowa – College of Law. He began his distinguished career as a lawyer in Cleveland, OH and later Columbus, OH.

Tom was an avid angler and loved sailing. Recently, a favorite pastime was kayaking in Hoover Reservoir. Ever the lover of literature, he was a voracious reader. Tom loved to spoil a good walk with a game of golf, and he was a former member of Chagrin Valley Country Club, The Golf Club at Little Turtle, and Rattlesnake Ridge Golf Club. He was a member of the congregation at Central College Presbyterian Church.

Tom is survived by his wife Kate (Sommers) Hunter, sisters Judith Hunter, Carol Hunter (Philip B. Moon), Elizabeth Schippers (Kevin), and Janey Lovelock (Mike Vennerstrom), children Christopher (Jennifer), Leigh, Paige, and Andrew. Tom was blessed with four grandchildren: Dylan, Owen, Sylvia, and Violet.

Services will be held Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Central College Presbyterian Church 975 Sunbury Rd. Westerville, OH 43081. Visiting Hours will be from 1pm to 3pm, and a Service will be held at 3pm (Please wear a mask).
