Name is Art Atkinson only. Father's name originally was Archibald Edwin Atkinson. Archie did not like his name, so he had it legally changed to Arthur Edwin Atkinson. Their son, Art was named only Art. Not Arthur E or Arthur Edwin or Art JR. This information was given to daughter in law by Art Atkinson himself.

Art was the son of Arthur Edwin Atkinson aka Art also, and Minerva Lititia aka Tishia Bennett Atkinson. He was one of nine children: Eva, Kenneth, Wrethel, Grace, Bernice, Lois, Richard, and Barbara.

Art served on the CV-10 YORKTOWN in World War II. He was very proud to have served his country and on the Yorktown.

Art was married two times. First to Naomi Elizabeth Woods, daughter of Roy and Lillian Burns Woods. This marriage produced two children, Norman Rickey aka Rick, and Rodney Lynn aka Rod. He remarried to Wilma Boylan. No issue in this marriage, but three step children: Rhonda, Ronald, and Robin.

Art and Wilma lived various places in the midwest and western United States. Iowa, Nebraska, Arkansas, Missouri, and Arizona, which was the last place of residence.

Art was a very talented carpenter and builder even though this was never his profession. He built houses or additions to houses in Iowa, Arkansas, Missouri, and Arizona and lived in them all.
