Dorothy was raised in Bossier Parish and attended school there until graduation from Bossier High School in 1962. It was on April 8, 1966 that she married the "love of her life," Curtis Ollie Clark, and they then had one daughter.
Dorothy embraced and thrived in her new role as a cattle woman helping her husband manage North Ridge Farms in Shreveport, LA for several years. She was a member of the Louisiana CowBelles, the counterpart to the Louisiana Cattlemen's Association.
Dorothy went on to start her own business, Plants, Etc., in Bossier City, LA. After a few years of success, she opted to relocate and open a new business, in 1989, Clark's Hilltop Farm & Garden, in Haughton, LA. "Miss Dot," as she was known, ran that business until handing it over to her daughter in 2003 due to declining health. During her time there she made many lasting friendships with customers and salesmen. Many will remember her smile, her laughter and her "dolled up" look with a ring on almost every finger. She thrived on sharing her knowledge to all who asked.
Dorothy was preceded in death by the "love of her life," Curtis O. Clark, by 10 short weeks. Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Michelle Corley, and husband, Todd, her precious granddaughter, Randi Corley, and everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her. A special thank you to Cindy Jones for always being there to help in any way she could.
