On Monday, August 30, 2021, the Reverend Ronald F. King (Chaplin Ron King) was called home at the age of 82.
Ron was drawn to a life of ministry. He attended to the local community as a pastoral care counselor following his time as a chaplain at Onslow Memorial Hospital. He served as an interim pastor at several area churches, and very fondly, worked as a professor at Coastal Carolina community college and adjunct professor for Campbell University.
His rich, booming voice would captivate both congregation and classroom, while his soft tones in one-to-one conversations provided calming assurance. One of his best attributes was knowing when to comfort and when to kid. He was a wise yet humble steward of our Lord.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Karen King; daughter, Ronda Snyder; son John King; son-in-law, Marc Snyder; grandsons Caleb and Owen Snyder; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family members will be scattering Ron's cremated remains in a private ceremony. To honor his memory, the family simply asks for all those who knew and loved him to never miss the opportunity to say, "I love you" to those you hold dear.
