Richard Earl Powers, age 67, of Saint Peters, MO passed away with his wife and daughters by his side on January 8, 2021, after losing his fight against a long medical battle. Richard was born on November 19, 1953 in St. Louis, MO. He was the son of Leonard and Dorothy Powers, who proceeded him in death.

Richard graduated from Jennings High School, and had a long time career at Hazelwood School District for over 30 years, where he retired in 2009. He met the love of his life, Diana (Kasting) Powers, in their freshman year of high school and they married in 1974. He was a proud father of three children, Jaime, Courtney and Ryan, and an even prouder grandfather to eight grandchildren, Justin, Nathan, Rilyn, Cooper, Parker, Caden, Reagan and Sawyer.

Richard loved his family fiercely, had a strong faith and trust in God, and was a simple man with a big personality. In his spare time he loved going to the casino, hosting pool parties, celebrating the holidays, especially his favorite July 4th holiday, watching old westerns, hanging out with their group of lifelong friends from St. Pius of 40 years, and he most loved the days he spent with his family. He was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic parish, and enjoyed going to watch his grandchildren at their various events.

Richard is survived by his wife, Diana, of Saint Peters, MO; daughter Jaime (Douglas) Ludwig, daughter Courtney (Ben) Pezold and son Ryan (Erica) Powers, and his eight grandchildren, Justin Powers, 17, Nathan Pezold, 12, Rilyn Powers, 12, Cooper Powers, 10, Parker Ludwig, 8, Caden Powers, 7, Reagan Pezold, 7, and Sawyer Ludwig, 4. He was not only a devoted husband, father and grandfather, but a great brother, uncle, brother-in-law and friend who was loved by many, he never knew a stranger. He will be greatly missed by many.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 15 at 10 am at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Cottleville, MO.
