LAURA'S OBITUARY
Laura Cortez Lopez, 41, of Pampa, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021 in Pampa.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Laura was born on February 10, 1980 in Monahans to Carlos Cortez and Aurora Hernandez. She grew up in Monahans before moving to Pampa. Laura was a 1998 graduate from Pampa High School. She moved to Washington in 1999. Laura later moved back to the Texas Panhandle in 2002. She attended Trinity Church in Pampa for several years. Laura was baptized through the Catholic Church when she was younger. She enjoyed painting, attending her kid's sporting events, and spending time outdoors. Laura's biggest priority was her kids. She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, daughter, and friend.

Laura was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Isaac Hernandez and paternal grandmother, Carmen Marrufo.

She is survived by her 4 children, Lauren Karson and husband Ben, Michael Tollerson, Phoenix Lopez, and Paisley Lopez, all of Pampa; father of her two youngest children, Aaron Lopez; mother, Aurora Hernandez and Octavio of Monahans; father, Carlos Cortez of Amarillo; 2 siblings, Johnny Cortez and wife Wendy of Fort Worth and Victoria Cortez of Monahans; 2 nieces, Eiza Cortez and Emryn Cortez; maternal grandmother, Maria Hernandez of Monahans; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family members.
