Sara Lee (McCoy) Anderson, 81, formerly of Grantsville, died on Nov. 26, 2007.
Born March 18, 1926, in Keyser, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Paul and Nellie H. (Hanna) McCoy. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Gordon H. Anderson, in 1999; and one brother, Paul D. McCoy, in 1966.
She is survived by two sons; one sister; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was a 1944 graduate of Bruce High School, Westernport. She graduated from the University of Maryland School of Nursing in 1950 and received her bachelor of science degree from the University of Maryland in 1951.
After graduation she settled in Rockville, where she worked as a registered nurse at both Prince Georges County Hospital in Cheverly and Suburban Hospital in Bethesda. She later worked as a secretary at Holiday Park Elementary School in Wheaton.
While living in Rockville, she was a member of Rockville United Church. She moved to Grantsville in 2000 and joined the St. John's Christian Church.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, two hours prior to a memorial service, which will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 2 p.m., with Pastor Jerry Rogers officiating.
Inurnment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
