Mr. James Phillip Sheffer, age 86, of Copperhill, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021. He was born in Cleveland, OH on September 13, 1934, to the late Charles B. Sheffer and Anna Marie Staab Sheffer. James was a member of First United Methodist Church of Copperhill. James served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He retired from the Tennessee Chemical Company, where he was Director of Purchasing for many years. James was a member of the American Legion, the Copperhill Chamber of Commerce, the National Purchasing Association, and served President of the Board of Directors for the Ducktown Basin Museum. James is preceded in death by his parents and son, Phillip Sheffer.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, September 6, 2021 at 3:00 PM from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Copper Ridge Memorial Gardens. Full military honors will be provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
