Thomas John Nelson, age 70, of Janesville, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, at his home. He was born in Beloit on Aug. 24, 1951, the son of the late Ingwall and Beverly (Mickey) Nelson Jr. Tom married Bonita "Bonnie" Garvin on Feb. 2, 2002. He was employed by Taylor Freezer in Rockton for 40 years retiring as a coordinator. Tom loved spending time with his grandchildren and socializing with his family and friends. In his younger years he enjoyed lifting weights. He liked to sing as well even if he didn't sound so good! He was also proud to do jobs for himself whether it was things around the house or on the cars. Tom also enjoyed taking rides in the country and playing the lottery. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; 2 sons, Adam (Brianna) Burner of Beloit, and Ian Burner of Menomonie, WI; 4 grandchildren: Ava, Alexa, Nova, and Arya; 2 brothers, Dave (Pam) Nelson and Mike (Lola) Nelson both of Beloit; sister-in-law, Carol Baertchy of Beloit; best friend, Mike (Pat) Wells of Beloit; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Mark Nelson. No services are being planned. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date. The family is being assisted by the APFEL WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, Janesville.
