JOAN ELIZABETH PIERCE
76, of Kingston, went to her heavenly home Thursday, June 6, 2019 in Covenant Medical Center, Select Specialty, Saginaw. She was born March 4, 1943 in Cumberland County, NC to Clinton Lee and Mary Elizabeth (Guy) Nordan. She married Kenneth R. Pierce, Sr. August 6, 1961 in Fayetteville, NC.

Joan loved God, her family and friends dearly. She always felt truly blessed. She also loved playing cards, Bingo, sewing, camping, gardening and garage sales with her family. Over the years Joan worked various jobs including as a waitress, a seamstress, for Vascos, at the grocery store in Ortonville and for 14 years as playground supervisor and Kindergarten Aid. Joan was a member of Kingston United Methodist Church, Caro VFW Post #4164, Caro Moose Lodge #1049 and Caro American Legion Post #4164.

Joan is survived by her husband, Kenneth, Sr.; children: Elizabeth (Brad) Bush of Knob Noster, MO; Rebecca (Randy) Ensign of Howard City, MI; Kenneth R. Pierce II of Kingston, MI; Troy Pierce of Waterford, MI; grandchildren: Dan (Kristin) Ensign, Ken (Marisa) Pierce III, Dana (Derek) Grummet, BJ (Alyssa) Bush, Chelsey Bush, Mykayla Johnson, Cassidy Pierce; 12 great grandchildren; twin sister, Judy Sampson of Coco, FL; brothers: Roger (Sandy) Nordan of Fayetteville, NC; Clinton (Christine) Nordan of Linden, NC; sister, Melody Edwards of Fayetteville, NC; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sister, Linda Nordan Hobbs; brother-in-law, Bill Sampson; her parents, Clinton and Mary Nordan; grandson, Trevor Pierce; and niece, Virginia 'Ginny' Carter.

Memorial service held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 10, 2019 in Kingston United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Harriman officiating. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Kingston Fire and Rescue or Kingston United Methodist Church. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and photos with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
