Larry Wayne Basinger

Mr. Larry Wayne Basinger, age 82 of China Grove, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at his home. Born May 4, 1939 in Rowan County, Larry was the son of the late Lewis C. Basinger and Ruby Troutman Basinger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Hannah Basinger; Sisters, Bernice Carter, Gaynelle Moose, Evelyn Roberts and Kathleen Stanley and his brothers, L.C. Basinger and Norman Basinger. He was a member of Genesis Baptist Church.
Larry was educated in Rowan County Schools. He retired from Estes Express Lines, where he was the shop foreman for many years. In his spare time, Larry enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting and fishing. He loved his time in the mountains and being with his grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara Beaver Basinger; sons, Larry W. Basinger, Jr. (Starla) and David Basinger (Sabrina) along with his daughter, Tonya Barringer (Jerry) as well as his brother, Michael Bassinger (Brenda). He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Clint, Luke, Lawson and Owen Basinger, Caleb Srackangast (Kayla), Cameron and Cassidy Barringer.
Visitation for Larry will be on Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 10:00 – 11:00am at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel at 11:00am officiated by Pastor Mike Shoaf of Nazareth Community Church. Burial at West Lawn Memorial Park will immediately follow. Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Basinger.
