She was born January 3, 1939 in Charleston, to the late Edward H. and Frances Marie Stuck Casto and also preceded by her husband, John A. Reed.
She was a graduate of Charleston High School, held a bachelor's degree from Morris Harvey College and a master's from Marshall College of Graduate Studies.
Carolyn was a member of the Elk River Church of the Nazarene and the Charleston Rainbow Girls and Eastern Star.
Carolyn was a teacher in Kanawha County Schools for 20 years, and an employee of Casto's Flowers and Greenhouse (Cross Lanes) for 35 years.
She is survived by her loving family, son, Dan Reed, daughter, Amy (Charles "Bud") Bowman, grandchildren,Bryan, Beth, Emily, Anna, Blake and Iva, great-grandchildren, Claire, Xander, and Bella, brother, Ron Casto.
Service will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 4, at the Elk River Church of the Nazarene, 143 Dutch Rd., Charleston, WV 25302, with Randy Ledsome officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Family will receive friends from noon until service time at the church on Saturday.
