Jamie Andrew Stephens, age 46, of Vidalia, died Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Memorial Health in Savannah after a brief illness.


He was a lifelong resident of Toombs County, a 1992 graduate of Toombs County High School, and a graduate of Ogeechee Tech. He worked at Trane for twenty-eight years as a machinist and tool and die maker. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Lyons where he and his wife taught kindergarten and pre-k Sunday school; he served as an usher and was a member of the brotherhood. He enjoyed working and tinkering with small engines, especially motorcycles, repairing old Harley-Davidsons.


His surviving family includes his wife of twenty-eight years, Tammy McCoy Stephens; three children, Jason Stephens, Meghan Stephens, and Madison Stephens; one granddaughter, Lily Ann Stephens; parents, Patricia and Reggie Stephens; two brothers, Lee Stephens and wife Jennifer, and Pate Stephens and wife Kelly, all of Vidalia; two brothers-in-law, Darrell McCoy and wife Leslie, and Terry McCoy, all of Vidalia; two sisters-in-law, Rita McCoy of Vidalia, and Tracy Boatright and husband Brad of Mt. Vernon; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.


The family will receive friends at Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 until 8:00. A graveside funeral service will be Saturday, September 4th, at 11:00 a.m. at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Dannie Williams officiating. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, PO Box 627, Lyons, GA 30436.
