Paula Kay Austin, age 65, of Tecumseh, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. She was born on September 21, 1955, in Tecumseh, the daughter of Earl and Juanita (Johnson) Culbert. She was a graduate of Napoleon High School with the class of 1973 and went on to receive her Journeymen's Card in tool design. Paula had been employed at Tecumseh Products for 30 years as a Draftsman, retiring in 2008. On June 12, 2000, Paula married Robert Austin in Toledo, OH and he survives. Paula was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she was past Worthy Matron. She was also a member of the White Shrine of Jackson and was a past Worthy High Priestess. She enjoyed knitting and solving crossword puzzles.
In addition to her husband, Robert, she is survived by her children, Paula (Gretchen) Dolson, Edward Dolson, Matthew Dolson, Elissa Ellis, and John Ellis; stepchildren, Dana Austin, Erin (Matt) Rose, Dian Austin, and Gale (Sabrina) Austin; brother Carl (Susan) Culbert; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Earl J. Culbert; and stepson Eric Austin father-in-law, Frank Austin.
Visitation for Paula will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, from 2-4 & 6-8 at Eagle-Marry Funeral Home, Hudson. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at 11 AM at Open Door Bible Church in Hudson with visitation from 10 to 11 at church. With Pastor Tom Pryde officiating, burial will be held in Maple Grove Cemetery.
