Kathryn "Kay" Ellen Freeman, age 97, of Groves, Texas passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Lyons, New York on April 7, 1924 to Raymond Winans and Lena Andrews Winans.
Kay had lived in Groves for 71 years and was a member of The Presbyterian Church of the Covenant (Providence Church).
She was a well known and loved dance instructor and retired after 60 years of teaching from her studio in Groves that she owned and operated as Kay Freeman Dance Studio. Kay was a member of Dance Masters of America and Dance Educators of America.
A visitation for family and friends will begin at 10am, Friday, September 3, 2021 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.
Funeral services will follow at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Shreve of Providence Church officiating.
The family will have a private burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Kay was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John Herbert. Freeman.
She is survived by her son, John W. Freeman and wife Marcia of Groves, two grandchildren, John Ryan Freeman and wife Lindsay and Ross Allen Freeman and one great grandson, Liam John Freeman.
