Rickey Dwayne Covey, 69, of Williamstown, KY, passed away Thursday September 2, 2021 at his residence. Born January 14, 1952, he was the son of the late Ervin Bay and Lula Mae O'Hara Covey.
On November 26, 1983, Rickey was united in marriage to the former Patricia Pettit; she survives. Over the years he worked for Armor USA, Sabatasso Foods, Dana Industries and Natco; he especially enjoyed helping his dad at Covey's Store on Taft Hwy in Dry Ridge. He was an avid fisher, a former member of Trap Shooting Club at Crittenden, and formerly played on a bowling league. He was a member of Grassy Run Baptist Church but until his sickness he was attending Sherman Full Gospel Church.
In addition to his wife of almost 38 years, Patricia, Rickey leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter: Rachel (Shane) Stakelin of Walton; four brothers: Bobby (Bev) Covey of Verona, Donald (Alice) Covey of Crittenden, Larry (Nancy) Covey of Crittenden, Denny (Kay) Covey of Dry Ridge; two sisters: Sue Blackney of Dry Ridge, Helen (Jess) Lawson of Independence, along with one grandson: Chase (Lauren) Stakelin. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Mickey Covey along with two other brothers, Merle Covey and David Covey.
Visitation will be Wednesday September 8, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. till the time of the funeral at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Howard Chipman will be officiating. Burial will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery .
