James Albert Hooper, 81, of Arden, NC went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 31, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Geraldine Hedrick Hooper, his parents, Albert Slayton Hooper and Lillie Esther DeHart Hooper, a son, John Marshall Hooper and five sisters, Thelma, Nina, Dorothy, Emogene and Jane.

He served in the US Navy.
He retired from Dupont after 28 years of service and had also worked at Moore and Son Trucking.
He was a lifetime member of Mills River Fire Department.
He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of thirteen years, Peggy Jean Hooper; a son, Mark James Hooper and his wife Linda of Flat Rock; two daughters, Tina Hooper of Mills River and Margaret Foster and her husband Kenneth of Mills River; seven grandchildren, Brandon Hooper, Erica Anders, Jeremy Indelicato, Jessica Cannon, Hannah Foster, Emily Foster and Samantha Foster; three great grandchildren, Ella Anders, Eliza Anders and Clark Cannon.

Due to COVID concerns a private graveside service will be held at Carver Cemetery in Robbinsville, NC.
