Melody J. Stanley (McFarland), 74, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021. Born in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond McFarland and Lorraine Campbell.
She graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School with honors in 1964. Melody got a late start to her dream job in 1994, worked as a charge nurse at St. Anne's Nursing Home until 2000. She then finished her nursing career in 2006 at Quarryville Presbyterian Home due to health reasons. After 2006, her strong work ethic gave her the drive to start her own business as a courier for Phoenix Courier Services. She retired in 2018.
Melody loved to swim, dance, and sing, and had such a love for reading. She was stubborn and was known for saying exactly what she was thinking. "She was never wrong". She left this earth with a giant, fat head picture of Joe Biden watching over her.
She is survived by her two daughters, Stacy Hess (Park), and Kelly Slaymaker (Dean); her son Robert Stanley (Jennifer Kisskiss), her grandchildren, Megan, Nicole, Kayla wife of Caleb Kaylor, Caleb, Isabelle, Jordan, Alexandria, Danny, Flynn and J.T.; and her great-grandchildren, Cole, Charlotte, Bentley, Aubree, Denver, Ryker, Desi, Jayde, Collin, Jayden, and Runa; her brother, Mike McFarland and two nephews, Raymond McFarland, and Michael Ellis.
Melody was preceded in death by her grandmother, Eleanor J. Campbell (Rineer), and grandfather Calvin P. Campbell.
