Obituary
Robert McKell Williams, 74, long-time resident of both Mona and Pleasant Grove, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2021, as a result of Covid-19 Pneumonia.

Robert was born June 10, 1947, in American Fork, Utah to Elbert McKell and Avera Marie Smith Williams. Robert grew up in Pleasant Grove and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1965, where he was a Sterling Scholar. He served a faithful mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the California North Mission from 1967-1969. He later attended BYU where he earned a master's degree and graduated as class Valedictorian.

Robert was a lifelong public servant. He served as Treasurer for Pleasant Grove City and was a member of the volunteer ambulance and EMT crew for over 10 years. Robert loved to teach and spent many years teaching math to students from junior high to college. He later taught math at Utah Valley University and was known for helping students who struggled in math.

Robert spent countless hours volunteering his time to the service of others. His greatest joy in life was bringing Christmas cheer as Santa Claus for families across the valley for many years. He kept his beard year-round, had a natural twinkle in his eye and a jolly personality. He was a truly generous person, and often assisted families in need, helping to pay for missions, schooling, medical bills and anything else he could. He brought flowers, food and cheer to anyone in need.

He was a dedicated senior citizen bus driver and looked forward to bringing food to the seniors every week. His passion was cooking and entertaining a crowd and was famous for his delicious scones and Navajo tacos. Robert was a man of great faith and showed his love through service.

He is loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Robert is survived by many loving nieces and nephews, his brothers, Kent and Mark Williams, and adopted son, Shawn Brunson. He was preceded in death by his parents Elbert and Avera Williams; brother, Jay Williams, sister, Myrla Williams Elm and his loving companion Pat Walters.

Family and friends are invited to Robert's Memorial and Celebration of life on Monday, July 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mona First Ward Chapel, 65 East 100 North, Mona. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
