CHINA GROVE -- Funeral services were held this morning for Georgia Upright Cagle, 90, 1465 Lentz Road, who died Saturday (Aug. 23, 2003)at her home after a period of declining health.

Born June 5, 1913, in Rowan County, Mrs. Cagle, a daughter of the late George Washington and Margaret Elizabeth Goodman Upright, was educated in the Rowan County schools.

She retired from Cannon Mills finishing department. A member of Trinity Lutheran Church, she was affiliated with the Martha Fisher Circle.

Her husband, John Henry Cagle, died Dec. 13, 1975.

Survivors include son Jeffrey Cagle, Landis; daughters Vicki C. Goad, China Grove, and Deborah C. Smith, Kannapolis; sister Mildred Hurley, Landis; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Ted Davis officiated at the 11 a.m. graveside service at Carolina Memorial Park.

No visitation was held.

Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, Landis, was in charge.
