Funeral services for Bishop Rogers L. Allen, Sr., 75, of Dublin, Georgia, will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at the Fields Temple Church, 617 South Washington Street in Dublin. Pastor Naomi Forman will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Bishop Allen was born on Sunday, March 3, 1946, in Jefferson, Georgia, to the late James Herschel Allen and Willina Randolph Allen. He was a graduate of Oconee High School as a member of the Class of 1964. He was drafted in the United States Marines and was stationed in Barstow, California until 1968. Later in life he went on to earn his BSN degree and worked as a nurse manager at the Carl Vinson Veterans Administration Medical Center where he later retired. Bishop Allen passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021.

Bishop Allen was preceded in death by his siblings, James Allen, Jr. James T. Allen, Joel H. Allen, Evalene Allen Newton, Eddie Junior Allen, William Walter Allen, John A. Allen, Sr., Wimpy B. Allen, Sr., and Shiney Mae Allen Martin. Bishop Allen leaves to cherish his memories his children, Shadrala (Stacey) Blackshear, Rogers L. Allen, Jr., of Dublin, Mario Coneway of Smyrna, LaWanda ALlen and Victoria Allen, both of Dublin, along with his grandchildren, Paxton Blackshear of Richmond Hill, Quantavius Clover of Statesboro, and Darius Blackshear of Dublin, and a host of nieces, nephews, and devoted friends.

The family will be receiving friends at the home of his daughter, Shandrala Blackshear, 219 North Elm Street in Dublin. The family asks that all visitors (children and adults) wear masks for visitation and at the service. Please post condolences at ServicesbyDudley.com.
