Leon E. Smith, 77, of Linda Lane, Baldwinsville, passed away on Thursday August 26, 2021 at Crouse Irving Hospital.
Born to his late parents, Earl Lewis Smith and Genevieve May Smith of Pennellville, February 10, 1944 at home in Palermo.
He was a member of the Phoenix Food Pantry, Phoenix Senior Citizens and T-N-T of CNY. He retired from New Process Gear in 2001.
Leon was predeceased by his wife Marie E. Smith in 2011 and his companion Martha J. Arnold in 2019, as well as three of his brothers; Louie Smith of Cicero, Carl Smith of Pennellville and Earl Smith Jr. of Hastings. Surviving are his three siblings, Harry Smith of Florida, Burt Smith and Dorthy Smith of Pennellville; his three daughters, Kathleen (Joe Warren) Smith of Pennellville, twin daughters, Sandra Smith of Milton, Florida and Sharon Cromie of Phoenix; 9 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, September 3, 2021 where his service will follow at 6pm at New Comer Cremation and Funerals, 705 North Main, North Syracuse, NY 13212.
