Biography for Lucy Nancy Hanks Sparrow:
the following can be proven thru DNA and documentation:
Lucy was the daughter of Joseph Hanks 1725 - 1793 and Nancy Ann Lee 1742 - 1794
It was thought that "Lucinda" Lucy Shipley was married to a James Hanks, however that is disputed by two things: Robert Shipley and Sarah Rachel Dorsey (who were living with the Hanks) were in their 50's at the time of Lucy's birth and DNA results also disprove them as parents.
Since DNA specifically shows that Lucy was not a Shipley it is evident her parents are someone else.
DNA did show she was the daughter of Lee Ann Hanks.
Since Lucinda the supposed name for the Hanks child appears no where in the records I have discarded that also.
Date of Birth and place of birth, along with dates of death and place of death are also inconclusive, so I am leaving them as is until I can get better knowledge of them.
A marriage record appears for Lucy Hanks & Henry Sparrow: April 30, 1790
I would welcome any updates thoughts or ideas for Lucy.
